MASON DIXON ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!
Mason-Dixon returned to the North American County Board Championships this Labor Day weekend and took home the cup. Over three days, Mason-Dixon played in hard fought games against teams from all over the country. The lads opened the weekend against Buffalo, winning 0-13 to 0-11. Saturday's game against Phoenix was a windy affair. Mason-Dixon was dominant in the first half of the game, but Phoenix staged a ferocious comeback in the second half to take a one point lead heading into injury time. The lads dug deep and refused to lose, with Bobby Gilligan scoring the decisive goal to go up by 2 points with one minute remaining. Final score; Mason-Dixon 2-9 Phoenix 1-10. On Sunday, Mason-Dixon entered into the championship match against an experienced and familiar opponent - Baltimore. In a game for the ages, Mason-Dixon fought their way to victory. Final count; Mason-Dixon 2-11 Baltimore 1-10. Thank you to everyone for a wonderful and memorable season. Up the Brigade!
